Erica M. Allen Winslow, MD, MPH is the founder and CEO of Winslow Primary Care Alliance. She obtained a Bachelors degree in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics from UCLA, and a Masters degree in Public Health with emphasis on Community Health, specializing in Health Management & Policy, from MCP Hahnemann/ Drexel School of Public Health in Philadelphia. Enthusiastic about the potential benefits of combining public health with primary care services, she pursued a medical degree from Michigan State College of Human Medicine, and residency training in Urban Family Medicine at the Albert Einstein Beth Israel Residency. She currently serves as a community-based family medicine physician in the state of Virginia and founded The Center for the Rights & Protection, Inc., where she actively works to improve state court practices for handling matters involving child safety.
Dr. Allen Winslow has over 10 years of experience working with communities of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, trained in-patient and outpatient care for patients with acute and chronic conditions across the age spectrum, from infancy to adolescence to mid and late adulthood. She is known to have fostered solid physician-patient relationships, based on her excellent communication skills and diligent patient advocacy. She has dedicated her vocational career to her mission of providing comprehensive healthcare and contributing to existing public health efforts, aiming to promote the health and wellbeing of all people, regardless of ethnic background or socioeconomic status.
Dr. Allen Winslow established Winslow Primary Care Alliance in October of 2016. Later, in early 2018, she embarked on extending the services of the practice, to include an in-home care component, providing primary care services to elderly and homebound individuals throughout Northern Virginia. The practice was designed to address the unmet medical need in the current healthcare system, where people with limited capacity to regularly engage in, and receive primary care services, are at risk of missing out on optimal health care. Dr. Allen Winslow has made it the mission of Winslow Primary Care Alliance to offer high quality, comprehensive medical care to children and adults, and to contribute to existing efforts to provide better health care among diverse ethnic communities. In doing this, she and her team are helping to eliminate ethnic/racial disparities while improving safety net systems for the uninsured and underinsured populations. Launching the in-home services of Winslow Primary Care Alliance, has allowed Dr. Allen Winslow to see patients in the comfort of their homes, where appropriate, and provide them with high quality primary care services. These in-home primary care services focus on improving the quality life of a growing elderly population, promoting their wellness and maximizing the health of those who experience difficulty getting to their primary care physician’s offices.
In the short to medium term, Dr. Allen Winslow plans to expand the services of Winslow Primary Care Alliance to include parts of Maryland and Washington D.C., thereby providing optimized care to seniors and families residing in the Metro DC area.
